The Couple's Renovation System

Reno
Together.

The only renovation planner designed for two people. Weekly accountability splits, structured check-ins, and a decision log that eliminates "you never told me."

The Problem

Every renovation planner on the market
is built for one person.

  • Invisible load. One partner does everything. Books the trades, chases the quotes, tracks the budget. The other feels out of the loop. Resentment builds quietly.
  • Unilateral decisions. Someone picks the tiles, approves the kitchen layout, or signs off on a quote without the other knowing. Then the argument starts.
  • No shared record. "I told you about that." "No you didn't." Without a decision log, renovation becomes a memory test neither of you can win.
  • No weekly rhythm. Tasks pile up. Nobody knows who owns what. The mental load sits with one person until it breaks them, or the relationship.

Reno Together is the first renovation system built for two. Not a to-do list. A relationship operating system for your build.

How It Works

A weekly rhythm that prevents conflict

Every Sunday evening, you sit down together for 20 minutes. You split the week's accountability zones, log decisions, and check in on each other. That's it. That's the system.

i.

Split

Each partner takes defined accountability zones for the week. Not tasks, but ownership areas. "This week, I own the kitchen contractor. You own the bathroom tiles." No ambiguity.

ii.

Check in

At the weekend, you review together. What landed. What didn't. What surprised you. How you're both feeling. Structured prompts stop it becoming a blame session.

iii.

Log and plan

Decisions get recorded. Who decided, when, and what was considered. Then you plan the next week's split. The cycle continues. No invisible load. No surprises.

What's Inside

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

A beautifully designed, printable PDF system. Every page is considered. No filler. Just a clear structure that keeps you both on the same page, literally.

i.

Weekly Accountability Planner

52 weeks of structured accountability splits. Each week, each partner owns defined zones. Not a shared to-do list, but clear ownership that prevents invisible load.

ii.

Weekend Check-In Template

What landed. What didn't. What surprised us. Budget update. How we're feeling. Next week's intentions. Structured prompts that prevent blame spirals.

iii.

Decision Log

What was decided, who decided, when, and what was considered. The end of "you never told me." Every decision, documented and agreed.

iv.

Budget Tracker

Room by room, category by category. Forecast versus actual. No hidden costs, no surprise overspends. You both see the full picture at all times.

v.

Contractor and Supplier Log

Quotes, contacts, scheduled dates, outcomes. Everything in one place so neither of you is scrambling for a phone number at 7am on a Monday.

vi.

Tension Release Prompts

Weekly emotional check-in questions designed to surface pressure before it becomes an argument. Because grout colour shouldn't end a marriage.

Why This Exists

"We're renovating our first home together. We built this system because we needed it, and because nothing else on the market was designed for two people."

Matt and Lily, founders of Reno Together
(and currently living through their own renovation)

Questions

Frequently asked.

Is this just a renovation to-do list?
No. To-do lists assume one person is running the project. Reno Together is a shared accountability system where each partner owns defined zones each week, with structured check-ins and a decision log. It's the difference between a shopping list and a meal plan.
We're not arguing yet. Do we still need this?
Especially then. The whole point is prevention, not repair. Setting up a shared system before the stress hits means you'll have a rhythm in place when the kitchen delivery is three weeks late and the plumber's ghosting you.
Can we use this for a small project, or is it only for full renovations?
It works for anything from a single room refresh to a full house gut. The accountability split and check-in rhythm are just as valuable for a kitchen renovation as a whole house project. Arguably more so, because smaller projects are where couples most underestimate the stress.
Is this UK specific?
The system works anywhere. The language is British English and some of the blog content references UK-specific topics like VAT and planning permission, but the accountability planner, check-in templates, and decision log are universal.
What if my partner isn't interested?
Show them this: 1 in 6 couples consider separating during a renovation. Then show them the system. 20 minutes on a Sunday evening to split the week's ownership and check in. It's a small ask that prevents big arguments.
How do I get the PDF after buying?
You'll get an instant download link through Etsy as soon as your purchase is confirmed. Print it, stick it on the kitchen table, and start your first weekly split that same evening.
